No. Drive 35 miles one-way, so not change in usage.

Yes, less trips out to eat. Just running errand trips are now planned to make several stops on one trip that may have taken several trips before.

I use less fuel now. I take the motorcycle more often and drive the Jeep less. More for preference and conservation than due to recession.

There's hardly been any impact. If I have the resources and I'm willing to use some of them on transportation, why should external issues affect what I'm doing?
If I'm afraid of losing earned income, I could curtail expenditures, reallocating the money to savings to bolster my reserve fund, but sooner or later I'll have to invest that money -- where do I want to invest it? Am I better off spending it to get what I want today or shall I defer consumption today in favor of investing for the future?
If everybody quits spending and hoards the cash, economies collapse.
Think about the consequences. Those who say, "the sky is falling" are the cause if the sky actually falls. Do you want to be part of the problem or the solution? Cut back a lot; somebody else loses a job.
Perhaps the best thing to do is spend your money wisely -- and the effect spending has on the economy is a consideration.

Greatly I do less driving for leasure. Most of my driving is getting to and from work and do errands like shopping and other things. I like to go out hiking find different places to explore but can't do that as much now.

First, I am not sure this is just a recession. I drive significantly less. Every time, I get in the car, I am thinking about which route will require the least amount of stops as I live in Orlando and we have lots of lights unless you want to pay big money for toll roads. I am seeing less of my friends which has impacted my life negatively and I have even changed my church due to the fact the drive was to far. So, my world is getting smaller and I am trying to adapt. Last time prices were so high (and they are usually the highest in the state because of our amusement parks and don't drop until late Sept. thru Thanksgiving); the prices of other goods and services were not so high so you could take your grocery money and household money and apply to gas, not so now, now I spend less on food (hey I lost weight) and clean with cleanser, bleach and window cleaner - everything is on "sale" (I mean a real sale) for me to buy it anymore.

It has no impact...in fact we purchased a new luxury SUV that gets 15mpg when gas prices were at 4/gallon. Sure I spend a little more on gas to drive it, but I got a $10k discount when I bought it because of the high gas prices.

I use the same amount of gas as normal. I can not afford to not use my car with my commute all the way across town. I am totally for the "bike to work" day or week or month ... but unfortunately it is not practical for me. True, I do not like the high gas prices. But my car only runs with unleaded fuel. I can't wait until I can purchase a solar run or electric only vehicle.

In realtiy, I still use the same amount of gas. Driving for necessities is a necessity. Visiting your aged mother is a necessity. But it does help when gas is cheaper
