Why are all these people wanting MORE money coming in? Isnt part of a budget eliminating the waste and crap from spending? Instead of asking for more money why not start just NOT spend money on waste? Stop spending it on things that are unnecessary? Eliminate the garbage. Go through the entire system and look at how things like the DOTs buy up stuff near the end of their fiscal year and then throw it away so they can argue for a higher budget at the new fiscal year? Look at how much of your population is living on the system and require them to work in state ran facilities as janitors, laborers, assistants etc. ? Give them OJT instead of a hand out. I know a lot of people that WONT work or get off state assistance BECAUSE they get paid better than a job. WTF?
And stop doing things that cause people to spend less because they HAVE less? Raise taxes? WHY? We are already struggling. We are already maxed out on our own budgets. Why even allow the oil companies to hurt the economy like this?

Perfect example of the working man getting the @#$% squeezed out of him! What are these companies going to do when the working man has nothing left to give?

That is precisely what I'm tempted to say to all of the clowns that think crude should still be selling for $30/bbl or less. :-)

With a strike and a tax, that could push gasoline prices over $5.00 gal. Some state needs to build another refinery or 2. There is plenty of oil. Not enough refineries.

If they need additional funds, they should close some of the loopholes in the tax code so that major corporations pay their fair share on profits. This will generate billions, and take some of the pressure off the little people.

Whenever states cannot balance their budgets, they impose new or higher taxes. Washington has been raising taxes too much in the past. If all states would use fuel taxes for what they were intended for, the repair or replacement of roads and bridges, there would be no need for higher fuel taxes. The Cherry Point refinery was on February 17th, processing Alaskan crude. Sometimes the refinery workers need to give a little to make sure the refinery is making a profit AND the refinery needs to be truthful about it! The workers are exposed to dangerous chemicals during the course of their refinery work and need continuing health coverage. The price of fuel at the pump is too high! 12/22/2012!

Why?? What was the previous money spent on?? What pork, or handouts to buy votes? Where are the reserves for infrastructure??? Poor planning or worse - negligence.
