I take today....way too many records set by the original Dream Team have been BLOWN away by this somewhat more fragile Team 2012, But this is today and our future..The past, other than for history issues is long gone and really history for all intent and purpose.

I'll still take the Dream Team over the 2012 Gold medal winners. Both are great both are favorites.
Great win for team USA in an ugly game of WAY too many fouls. España really made sure they set the tempo, and Pau kept them in the game in the 3rd.

I was watching the 1st half and thinking, why is Kobe even out there? Wonder if it was Coach K who made him mad, before he lit it up in the 2nd???
They broke out a little bit of Showtime in the 4th Quarter when they buried the Aussies.
Great to see Kevin Love with all the rebounding he's been doing. They will need more of that form him and maybe Tyson Chandler can stay in the game for more than 5 minutes too against Scola and Argentina.

Never said I didn't want them to win. Don't put words in ones mouth. There are ways to win and ways to win. Against Nigeria was a farce, not basketball. Lithiuania almost had them. No doubt. Today the US played well the first half and so did Argentina--good game. Second half was a blow-out and the Argentines didn't like it resulting in several scuffles.
I just fully believe that Michael Jordan and crew could make LeBron REALLY strain if tyey played today. If the US continues to win and gets the gold, great, but I'll still believe in MJ and crew. You will believe whatever it is you want.

No, it didn't HUMBLE me at all. Nigeria is a team w/o a leader, without much talent and only managed to get to the Olympics by defeating Greece of all places. No African team is ever given any credence in the Olympics. To humiliate another basketball team by smashing them by 83 points is a symbol of total arrogance and should be condemned.
I don't suppose you watched Carmelo as he laughed his way through the game, making fun of those players who were at least trying to play well from Nigeria.
Humbled? No. Disgusted? Yes.
