neemund: are you talking price per gallon? B/c it's really not real to have prices that low for a barrel.

EVBuddy: since that depends on other variables, I don't think it's as simple an equation as that.

I wish oil was $3.01 as that would be a step in the right direction. Around $1 would seem about right to me.

Such record pump price escalations can only destabilize economic recovery in those countries which rely heavily on oil energy. Unless alternative energy technologies are developed, the long term outlook will be extremely grim indeed.

Question usually asked: Are you worse off than you were ywo years ago? At least in Rhode Island, most of us can say without a doubt we are worse off. Countdown to November 2012.

This was a fairly easy prediction. Unfortunately for us, it was even worse than predicted!
To those folks who think $3 gas is Obama's fault -- was it Bush and Cheney's fault that gas was $4-$5 a gallon in 2007 or 2008? Yeah, I guess it was. That and the extended recession!
Let's face facts here folks. Higher oil (and gas) prices are caused by global demand, lead by China and India, etc.
Oh, and I'm all for forcing every oil company to start drilling right away on every piece of land that they have options on, or we (the government) will take it over and start drilling ourselves.
That's what y'all want, don't you?

Too darn high. We cannot make our tourists happy under these circumstances and now it looks as though the legislature might raise gas taxes again as we need lots more roads repaired and they are obliged to come up with the necessary ingredient $$$$$.

It's averaging 3.35 around here and the 2 local stations that have diesel just bumped it up to 3.69 and 3.75 a gallon. I can't wait to see how high it'll go when the economy really does start to improve....

NAVYSTORE.... Really?!! I cant beleive you! People have every right to voice their opinons in a forum which is what this is. I am sorry you obviously are not a very happy person, but that gives you no right to attack others. This is the second time tonight that I have seen. In another topic you said everyone in the forum was an idiot. Assuming your an American adult you should already know this is not appropriate.
P.S. Thanks nstrdnvstr and us4usa

Just under $3.00 a gallon shoot I would kill to pay only $3.00 a gallon as now the cheapest in my area is now $3.23 a gallon I mean what a joke! So for next week's prediction be sure to add about ten more cents versus this week!!

NavyStore, "RenegadeGas - pull your head out of yout exhaust pipe. This mess isn't President Obama's fault - it was caused by the GOP and greedy businesses!"
Really???
Obama was the one who pushed for the moratorium on oil drilling both offshore and in ANWR. Obama is the one that said that "under his plan, electricity rates will necessarily skyrocket."
Focus, NavyStore, Obama is the president and gets the blame for higher gas prices.
Greedy businesses? Do you have any idea what the profit margin is of the oil companies? Compare it to the proofit margin of other companies!

BTW, if you are trying to attack the President by using his middle name, we'll just start using the middle part of your screen name... 'GA' (pronounced G-A-Y)... So grow up or I will stoop to your level; and that is someplace you do not want me.
